08.24.18 State Adviser Update

Hopefully, your fall semester is off to a good start! We're certainly looking forward to another good NCPBL year.

Attached is a sample membership brochure if you need it. You can go through and add your chapter references to personalize it. Also, there are a lot of pictures on the NCPBL FaceBook and Instagram pages if you want to change or add pictures. You can also pull from those to do a PBL bulletin board. Don't forget to send a brochure electronically to your online students.

Mark your calendars for the September 20 "Chapter Officer Training Summits." More details will be coming, but the time is 1:00-4:00 on that Thursday afternoon. There is no registration fee, but please send a note to Mr. Fann (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) letting him know which site you're attending and approximately how many the chapter will have coming. We'll get parking information to chapters. The locations are Barton College (Wilson), Catawba College (Salisbury), and Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College (Asheville). You're welcomed to attend whichever location you wish. If you haven't elected officers at that point, just bring some of your leaders. Although the emphasis will be on officer responsibilities, we'll be covering the entire year's program. At some point in the program, we'll divide members and advisers so we can talk about some of the processes that usually are ours to handle.

The Professional Division-Foundation, Inc., board had a really productive meeting last weekend. All advisers are encouraged to join the Professional Division; this is done through the national website (fbla-pbl.org).

Amy has done her days of national PBL officer training at the National Center, and Shannon is on his way next week for the national PD officers meeting. We're proud to have officers on both of those teams.

More information will come on the state fall conference. Save the date: November 9-10 in Greensboro. The program will begin Friday evening and conclude after lunch on Saturday. The NCPBL NON-Trivia Contest is part of that conference. The study guide and procedures are attached.

When you have elected a chapter president, please send name and email to me and Townsend. The state officers are really interested in continuing to increase interaction between the state officers and the local presidents. You should have received or will receive information from Townsend about Presidents' Council meetings.

You can start entering members in the national database anytime!
